House training for Cats
Cats are considered to be much sensible and intelligent pet than other pets, so, you can train them at your house and with negligible efforts. House training for your cats require basic knowledge about their learning capabilities and a great patience. You have to train your household cats like your children with great patience and persistence. Excessive physical stress and harsh treatment can induce fear into their mind, so avoid excessive work out.
Cats don’t have same intellect and grasping power as humans do. For effective learning, cats have to be trained using references to some objects so that they can associate objects with corresponding actions.
You can start training you pet cat at your home when they approach an age of six months. You can train them gradually how to use litter box, how to react on a specific action. Cats learn easily when they are lured using treats, because treats are efficient tools during cat training. Trainers can improve their behavior and response using treats. Cats respond quickly when they expect some rewards from you. Those rewards generally include some yummy foodstuffs or ride on your car etc.
Cats often stroll here and there, that will restrict cat’s learning capabilities, so you have to confine them using leash. You can use H shaped leash or L shaped collar to control their movements. Initially, you have to completely control their movement for few days, this will help you in training them, else it will be difficult to train them while they are moving freely.
The strap should not be too tight otherwise it will cause suffocation. Allow your cat wandering for an hour or two a day wearing leash. But you must concentrate on its movements otherwise the leash may stuck with household objects and may harm poor cat. After a few weeks you can take your cat to parks so that they may intermingle with other people and enjoy the nature’s joy.
You can teach many tricks to your pet cats such as playing with children, playing with other cats, playing games, cleaning themselves and using litter box etc.
You must have great patience while training cats, as sometimes, they may respond very late. You must be sympathetic towards your cat and try over and again to explore their learning capabilities.
Cat lovers must understand their temperament. Cats must be trained with great patience; tolerance, love and you must reward them frequently.
